“I Am Not A Show Quilter”

Those are simple words and I hear them often as a professional longarm quilter. I am blessed every day to work on these beautiful quilt tops. I get to touch them and think about how to enhance their amazing design and beautiful fabric with thread. These quilts are a work of art with countless hours of selecting fabric, cutting, piecing, quilting and binding. I get tired just thinking about it.

Local quilt shows are an excellent start into show quilting and a good sample of the local talent. Local shows can run from one to three days and attract a large number of spectators in addition to quilters.

Entering and displaying quilts in a show allows quilters to share their beautiful work with others, interact with fellow quilters and learn from comments by experienced judges about your strengths and weaknesses.

I had a few of my clients enter their quilts in one of our local quilt shows last weekend and they were all winners! Showing your quilt, if just to add beauty in someones life for a moment, is a special feeling. Seeing that ribbon hanging on your quit is amazing.

Yes my friend you are a show quilter!
